Youri Tielemans has subtly indicated he will stay at Leicester City for at least the 2022/23 season. Two Premier League clubs are apparently very interested in acquiring the talented midfielder who seems to be in a complete vacuum.

Literally no one knows what will happen to the former AS Monaco player’s career after the 2021/22 season. Some Foxes fans are growing unhappy with the storyline, with the player receiving a little criticism on social media as he may be able to fish from free next summer.

You see, the Belgian’s contract at Leicester expires in 2023 and he turned down a new contract with the King Power club. Moreover, the supposedly interested majors seem to have other priorities. Or these potential suitors have been deterred by a mediocre term, compared to a generally high standard.

However, there can now be some clarity as the athlete breaks their silence. On instagram, the 25-year-old posted a collection of Leicester training photos and used the caption ‘preparing (for) the new season’. It’s a subtle indication that Tielemans may have decided to stay, but certainly not confirmation. Both Arsenal and Manchester United remain constantly tied to respective interests.

Leicester City’s upcoming simulcasts

After the three warm-up matches already played against Notts County, OH Leuven and most recently Hull City, the East Midlands side now face a double contest. Derby County and Preston North End await you on the same day. Yes, we know that sounds weird. But let FoL explain, because obviously LCFC can’t be in two places at once. Or can they?

It is becoming a tradition for Leicester to play a few friendlies on a specific day during the off-season. Basically, the team splits in two, with a slightly stronger half. Brendan Rodgers assistant manager Chris Davies is likely to take care of the lesser team while his superior oversees more star players.

The clashes both take place on Saturday, July 23. First, the friendly derby against Derby – it’s a mouthful – kicks off at 1pm. Reserve and reserve personnel will likely be involved in this game as the Rams reside in League One. Meanwhile, Championship outfit Preston could see Jamie Vardy, James Maddison, Harvey Barnes and company arrive for a 3pm start.
