Man City legend Shaun Goater reveals how he can help the club sign Erling Haaland ahead of rivals and wants them to beat Real Madrid against Kylian Mbappe transfer as well

Former Manchester City star Shaun Goater has offered to help them sign Erling Haaland next summer.

Goater is a City legend for his five-year stint at the club and he thinks he knows how to get Haaland to the Etihad Stadium.

Haaland is one of the deadliest strikers in world football

The Norwegian has established himself as one of the most gifted young footballers in the world with 68 goals and 19 assists in 67 appearances for Borussia Dortmund.

He has three years left on his current contract but the best clubs can secure his services if they stick to his £ 65million release clause which becomes available next summer.

Goater, however, has the perfect asset no matter who else tries to sign him.

He played alongside Haaland’s father Alf-Inge at City between 2000 and 2003, and together they helped promote the Premier League in 2002.

Goater said: “If they need me to talk to Alf, I’ll do what I can,” he told Casumo.

“It would be an exceptional buy as he is young, his scoring record in Europe is phenomenal and I think he would adapt easily to the Premier League.”

“If you’re talking about £ 65million you get a really good deal.

“He played against City in the Champions League last season and his pace was scary. Wow.

“I hope City look at him strongly with [Harry] Kane and [Cristiano] Ronaldo in the past.

A center-forward is something that Pep Guardiola’s side obviously lack.

City failed to replace all-time top scorer Sergio Aguero last summer, despite being linked with Tottenham ace Harry Kane and losing Cristiano Ronaldo’s signing with rivals Manchester United.

And Goater has also suggested that Man City should sue Paris Saint-Germain and France star Kylian Mbappe.

The former Monaco striker entered the last 12 months of his contract with PSG, after a transfer to Real Madrid blocked by the Ligue 1 formation.

And he now looks set to leave the club with a free transfer in 2022.

“If Real goes for Mbappe, I will say, ‘OK City, put your bid, put your bid,” Goater added.

“Mbappe can play wide and in the middle. They would be excellent signings.
