Bernardo Silva scores sensational volley straight out of FIFA in City vs Villa

Bernardo Silva scored an incredible volley to give Manchester City a 2-0 lead over Aston Villa.

The Portuguese midfielder is in the form of a life right now as City look to win their second straight Premier League title.

City traveled to Villa Park in search of their sixth straight win in all competitions and took the lead thanks to Ruben Dias.

Just before half-time City countered with devastating effect and Gabriel Jesus’ cross found Silva, who let go with an effort of the thumb.

Jesus’ ball floated just long enough for Silva to wrap it around his left foot and crush helpless Emi Martinez.

Silva almost left City this summer and Pep Guardiola was not going to stand in his way.

He will be glad the 27-year-old stayed and fans joked that he is now the best Portuguese player in the world, ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes.

Villa managed to pull off a goal early in the second half thanks to Ollie Watkins.

Despite Silva’s form, his teammate Ilkay Gundogan believes the former Monegasque is still underestimated by many.

He told ESPN: “I think he’s very underrated.

“He puts so much effort into everything he does on the pitch to make it easier for us, not just for himself.

“There can be a risk that sometimes he is not appreciated enough, but we know in the club how important he is to us, how much he is appreciated in the team and we are very happy that he is here and have such an amazing season. “
