Bernardo Silva makes Manchester City history with third consecutive award after November performances

The Portugal international has been instrumental in securing victories for Manchester City in all of their games throughout November and is set to play a pivotal role again during the turbulent December period.

Following his impressive performances, Bernardo Silva became the first City player to win the club’s Player of the Month award in three consecutive months, winning the November award with 48% of fan votes.

According to the official statement from Manchester City, Silva beat his Portuguese international teammate Joao Cancelo – who won 35% of the vote, and his midfielder partner Rodrigo – who won 17% of the vote.

In November, Bernardo Silva made five appearances, scoring two goals and providing an assist – an impressive comeback and a real testament to his flexibility within Pep Guardiola’s side.

After winning the November award, Gabriel Jesus remains the only other Manchester City player to win the club’s monthly award, winning the Etihad-sponsored award in the first month of the season.

Having started December in astonishing form with three goals in two games against Aston Villa and Watford, many fans are already expecting the former Monaco star to win the award for a fourth consecutive month.

Silva has earned a well-deserved rest for the club’s next game, with an upcoming trip to RB Leipzig in the Champions League and progress to the round of 16 of the competition already secured as well as first place in the group.
